I'm looking at buying another Coupe project. It has usual midwest rust in the lower qtrs, doors are solid and cowl has a lil rust. It has a deck lid that's useable. Comes with a frame also. And it has a ***le. It is a project for sure though. Thanks, Ty
does it still have its fenders , hood, gl***, engine/ trans, splash aprons, bumpers, seat, etc? kinda tough without more info or better yet, pictures! 28-29, 30-31?
Here in the Minneapolis area, that would go for at least $3000 and maybe more, Coupes seem to be the "HOT THING" now, so I find, if you want one, buy it when you find it, if not, there will be someone close behind that will....OH YA, ***le in itself is worth minimum of $500....can be a huge help down the road, but I am sure you already know that...Good Luck
28 body with 30 fenders and hood. And they conveniently covered up the rust-prone spots with the splash aprons. We need BETTER pictures. From that pic I'd think a thou$and would be safe. May be worth more if you can prove it's better condition.
The hood, cowl and doors are 1930-31, the rear 1/4 panels and roof is a 1928-29 I would check the doors to make sure they are coupe and not sedan / pickup doors. you could part it out easy for $2500- $3500 later kb
saw that on ebay for $2700. had it saved in watch list. located in troy, MO.ended this morning at 8;15 did you get it?
Oops. After further viewing of the excellent pic, I too see that the cowl and doors are for a 30/31. Looks like the only 28 parts are the rear quarters. This is just a bunch of mismatched parts that are good for nothing but parting out. Save your money.
Personally I wouldn't want to start with something that ****ty for s model a for what it probably cost. That's alot of stuff in those pics but it's mix matched stuff from ten cars. For a little more hunting and a little more cash you may end up with a complete but rough car or a decent coupe body. model a isn't rare enough for me to start with that stuff unless its a smoking deal. Pay a little more, get way more.
I'd agree with the $1000. to $1500. price range. Looks like someone stuck a bunch of leftovers together. All worth something, but probably not to the same person. Looks like about $10. worth of zip-ties?? Coupe bodies I've seen that are worth looking into are running$2000. to $5000. ( yup, for a Model A) Good luck. Mike from M***.
The 28/29 quarter window openings are 1" taller than the 30/31 door window openings meaning the back half doesn't match the front half...
Doors look to be 30-31 Tudor/pickup, I can't see the circular depression for the window cranks on the inside that only Coupe doors have.
I offered $1500 and got turned down so i'm out. I had him send me those pics and got to noticing all the mismatched parts. I'd like to have from the rear back though.
