Hope this isn't a stupid question. Did any of you guys paint your springs to disguise the pressure back in the 60's? Maybe Hydrazine/Nitro/alcohol/gas/whatever discolored them? I'd like to know if someone neat used my intake for real when it was state-of-the-art. It's an early hemi Cragar with valves on the bottom. Truly sorry if this is OT or if a thread exists, I didn't know who else to ask. Thanks for any help.
It's going on the Studebaker or Dad's retirement re-creation Don Long AA/FD, wherever it's needed first. I'll put up pics when it's ****ing air again. PM me or bump the thread if you have any info or want to help. Want to give some recognition to the 60's fathers of our hobby and piece together some history. Thanks!
Racers were too busy racing to worry about spring color, even more so when the spring could not be seen. A show car would have them painted or chromed if they were on the outside of the manifold.
"It's going on the Studebaker, or on..." Ok. Need pics 'n' info on this Stude. . Never enough info/pics on Studes. Always room for more. . Marcus...
