Multiple differences from the Grabowski 'T':
    Hand-built bed and functional tailgate.
    'T' spring, not 'A'.
Quickchange rear axle, painted body color (blue, not red)
    Buick 90 fin drums.
    Subtle differences in striping.
Bed cover design quite different, held down with hidden catch (not snaps).
    No visible gas cap.

Here's Ted Brown's T. Polaroids I took at an Early Times parking lot gathering along about 1968.

Mr. Davison : I have always thought Browns "T" looked so right with those big ol' Hals out back. Is that Thelens '32 Vicky behind it, in one of its forms? Just love the looks of that old beast.

I agree, they make the car look less fake - for lack of better words.

Yes, Ted didn't exactly worry about going over the top!! He just started with what was cool before and then built on it.

Yes, no particular recollection from then, but that looks like the Thelen Car in an early incarnation.

California Custom Roadster plans were Ted Browns plans He and a partner founded CCR. Ted drew up the plans pack they sold.

I'll play... The battery lives just ahead of the license plate, it's one of those little gel cell units.

So... Here is the updated version of my car's butt. I've got a few holes to fill, and a license plate light to figure out, but I'm liking it better all the time

I've always really liked the the T Bucket. I owned one, and hated it. I just felt really unsafe in the car. Like if I got rear ended or got in an accident it would be really bad. I've thought of building another one, but building a roll cage system into it. Thus giving it some protection.

If motorcyclist felt that way, there wouldn't be any on the road. I was in an accident with mine and survived to tell the tale. Brushed myself off. Waited for the city to pay and rebuilt it better and faster. *knock on wood*

  24. I like channeled Ts. You see tons of hiboys. But I think low Ts are where its at! :D
