First, thanks for the replies on the great shackle debate. now, ive seen mustang quarters (wheel openings) for the rear, or maybe thought i did. what year is used for this mod.? not oppossed to fabbing a flaired wheel opening but thought this is a pretty quick solution. any input will be greatly appreciated.

I used late 70's Mercedes front wheelwell lips on mine to finish off the radius. They fit perfectly into the inset on the side after a little cutting, and bending the ends a tiny bit. Gave the opening a factory type look.

I also filled in the area behind to make the opening round, and not sweeping back like the stock wheelwell did.

BrickTopp used 71 Mach-1 wheel openings on his build, and there was somebody else that used a Volvo front fender opening, can't remember the year or model.

that's the old way we made patch panels to repair rusted wheel opening for some reason the front s didn't rust out as fast as the rear

I like what I'm seeing but I'm leaving mine stock looking.Im able to get a P245/60R 15 on the back with a little mods.Currie 9" 389 Trutrack and a custom 4 link the 8" tire holds pretty good.I moved the lower links and torque boxs to the inside the frame after I made some custom subframe connectors. She has a built 347 and 5sd.I love fad work making things look simple that's why I like what your doing it looks simple but to get it right it's not Awesome

thats the 1. i've seen alot of falcons and yours is the definition of cool. im a sheet metal worker by trade and work usually slows for the winter as it has this year. that gives me about 3 months to work on mine. hope i can keep at it all winter. i wish i had the room to pull the 406 out of my galaxie for a motor, but will be using a windsor form a mustang laying around for now. big block later. checked out your thread and got alot of questions answered. Thanks for all the great info and inspiration.

Looking forward to seeing yours progress too! Mine is in my little canopy out back for winter upgrades now. Just finished swapping in new leaf springs yesterday, and dropping the ladder bars out so I can add adjusters and heims at the rear also.
