Hi! I have bought my first rod project. A real barn find from Iowa. Now is in Sweden! In my garage :) Everyting works as it and is just love it. But are going to build it hot rod/rat style. Without fenders and chevy 350 sb engine. Hope you like it as much as I do! Cheers! :) ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1387490422.303052.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1387490469.955274.jpg ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1387490500.640917.jpg

Looks to be a solid foundation to a build from. Wish mine was in that kind of shape before I started.

Another fool with a Sawzall. Leave the body alone. There's enough Rat **** out there.

I agree. The purpose of an automobile is to be driven. When the body is lowered too far, it is not longer a usable car.
    Most traditional hotrodders understood this

Best to try driving one like that before you shrink yours.

I absolutely love the 2nd pic you posted. By no means a Rat Rod and great look. I am going for that look with mine.
Don't let ANYONE dissuade you from building what YOU want. If you ask for feedback, then that is an entire different story!;)

I am a short **** myself coming in at just 5'8" so having copious amounts of headroom is a moot point with me. Take your time in the layout and design and be sure to get in there several times so you know what you need to do in order to accomodate your stature and how the ****pit will be laid out.

BTW, who owns that one in the 2nd pic? I would love to contact them.

Why don't you guys that want to tell him how not to build his car stop and think for a second, how would you react to people telling you how to build your car? You would probably ignore them and build it your way. Not to mention being offended that some one that has no money in it is telling you what to do.

It's your car man cut it up and have fun

In all fairness, a person has to almost expect that, when you post a thread about your car or a build. It would happen in real life as well. Everyone's going to toss in what they think, whether it's asked for or not. If the guys strong on an idea, he shrug it off. OR he may even like an idea or three.

Many opinions here... I don't mind when people say what they think about me or my car. I am doing what i want now matter what. Som people like hot rods and some people like originals. I am a hotrodder and think that i don't ruin a car when i fix it up and make something fun with it. Originals are for old people and those cars look good in a museum. ;) I am saving this car and going to meet many people on the way who going to react to it in there own way. Peace
