All of a sudden I can no longer click on a picture and enlarge it. Am I the only one? I can do it on other sites so I ***ume it is not my equipment.

I thought maybe it was my computer. I have to click on the pic then get out of it and click on it again to enlarge it.

^ me too. Plus every once in a while, and I haven't figured out a correlation to anything yet, I click on the small pic and the page totally locks up, so I have to reload the page to move ahead.

Just a minute ago I tried a page here with some small pics using IE11, my normal browser, and the pics locked. But when I tried the same pics with the Google Chrome browser they open fine. I'm not sure if Chrome is traditional, though.

I have found IE11 made my Windows-7 computer lock-up many times while on various web sites so I un-installed IE11, and the computer reverted back to IE10, and everything is now OK.

Also experiencing strange phenomena. Out of the clear, my browser doesn't react the same way it has for all the years I've played on the H.A.M.B.

When I click on a thumbnail it goes to the black square with the rotating "sunflower" but stops there-it no longer progresses to the image. I have to either click on the sunflower or play games with the "next" and "previous" ****ons. Neither of them work as they should. When I'm finished, I go the red X on my toolbar which now brings another icon/box asking me if I want to exit the item or all. I have to make another selection where before hitting the red X took me right back to the thread.

Something has changed here on the H.A.M.B.

I'm still running IE8 since it's the newest version of IE that will work with my WinXP computer. And it still works pretty well most of the time. But on newer operating systems IE has a somewhat annoying tendency of trying to automatically update itself when newer versions are available.

At work, when these newer versions get installed, it blocks access to some of our work related websites or makes other functions hang up. As a result we've had to change some settings in Windows so that it won't automatically update IE to version 10 or 11. If you've installed the latest version of IE recently you might consider uninstalling it and reinstalling a previous version if it had worked better for you.

Or consider trying another browser like Firefox or Chrome. If you have doubts about installing another browser on your computer (though I've never had any problems by doing so) you might want to try downloading a copy of Portable Firefox.

    http://www.softpedia.com/get/PORTABLE-SOFTWARE/Internet/Browsers/Portable-Firefox.shtml

It's designed to be loaded onto a USB thumb drive. Then you plug the thumb drive into your computer and open the Firefox browser from there without anything being installed on your computer's hard drive. And you can also use it by plugging it into any other computer with a USB port.

If nothing else it's a handy way to troubleshoot problems that you think might be browser related.

........I tried that HRP, but I'm still having the same problem as the OP. It's been going on for a week or so now. I had the HAMB in my "favorites" and when I accessed it that way I continue to have the problem so now I just go to my homepage (verizon) and put HAMB in the search slot and get on that way. For whatever reason the pictures (thumbnails) will enlarge by doing it that way. I'm pretty computer illiterate so I have no idea why it works one way and not the other....Don.

  10. I ditched Internet Explorer the day Chrome started.
    I'll never use IE again.
    Not worth the h***le.

No probs here with opening pictures.
    Fingers crossed.
