I picked up this Model A back half years ago and it has been in a corner-etc. Looking at it today I am thinking it is a cabriolet section rather than a roadster. Lock area looks high for a roadster and the contours do not match my roadster doors. I can make it work for me but am thinking a restorer might have a harder time finding this than a roadster section. Input appreciated. John 845-266-5304

My guess is 28/9 sport coupe, I am looking at the wide band on the door.
I just bought one of these a couple of weeks ago. All most all stock.

Is there a way to tell if this is 28/29 or 30/31 since there is no cowl? Thanks guys

From a quick glance at 50 feet, 28/9 has no wheelwell bead where 30/1 does. Beading at p***enger compartment wraparound is different. General shape of quarter panel is different.
Without google image searching and posting for you, I'd recommend looking at Brookville's catalog photos to familiarize yourself.

Subtle but major differences between '28/'29 and '30/'31.
Post some better pictures and should be pretty easy to pinpoint what you have.

It's definitely a Sport Coupe, though...based on your pics

Wheel wells pinpoint it to a 29/29 coupe. What type of coupe?:confused:

28/29 have no beading where the fender attaches and the upside down "Y" 's inside the wheel well are designated for a coupe, unless changed.

Sport coupes don't have metal tops. This is a regular steel top coupe. The top is made in a separate piece on the 28/29 coupe and come apart. If you can't find the piece to replace the rear window, I would cut up a rear window panel from a sedan. Those are easy to find.

That's a special coupe from 28-29. Note the slotted area around the quarter windows, cloth was attached to it. Also the missing area around the back window. It is like that because the special coupes were wood around the back window, with cloth covering. Standard coupes had metal around the back window. I will add to what Bader said Special coupe, and sport coupe quarters are one in the same. So are standard coupe quarters.
