Projects My new ride - '26 Dodge Bros 5 window

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Animal, Dec 20, 2013.

  1. I traded my '63 Galaxie for this.....I finally got an old coupe! I'm stoked....it's a '26 Dodge Brothers 5 window coupe on the original boxed frame, suicide front with ladder bars/bags in rear. 318/TF727, all steel w/ original grille shell. It will change as I decide what I want, but for now it's a running, driving hot rod, and that's all that matters. :D

    Nice ride! enjoy......

  7. Thanks, guys! I'm also getting the original hood and fenders......not sure if the hood will fit, but if not, I'll make a hood top. The fenders won't go on it, I'm pretty sure! :D

Looks like a great start, and always nice to have a driving car that you can enjoy as you personalize it! Just keeps your interest better than a pile of parts!

Always wondered why more drivers don't have 318's in them... nice dependable little motor with lots of jam for a light car. I like it.

Great car and a good trade! Any idea on the changes you'd like to make?

  11. The first thing I need to do is modify the visor and/or seating arrangement so I can see stoplights................. :D After that, roadster-style headers to gain some ground clearance, and some sort of heater. It was -18F here this morning. Oh, yeah, I'll probably put windows in it, too. :)

  13. Mopar with Mopar power, lookin good.

  14. If it had a sbc in it, I'd have passed. :D

  15. Delivery!! The coupe showed up yesterday afternoon, and the Galaxie went away. I had to go for a drive in the snow, windows or not. What a blast!

  16. I think that is the first one of those I have ever seen. If it were mine, I would put some cycle fenders on the rear. But your vision is the only one that matters.

Awesome little rod! Question....I can't tell from the pictures too well but did some body use a 70's powerwagon hood to fill the roof....I swear that's what it look like to me.......:)Go MOPAR!

  18. Good eye! The roof is the hood from the '77 Powerwagon the engine and trans came out of. :)

  19. Cycle fenders front and rear are definitely a possibility, because I live at 7,600 feet of elevation in the Rocky Mountains. We have nice weather a couple months out of the year, but a lot of dust and sand get blown onto the roads when it's not raining or snowing. :D

You could always get one of those prism deals that sit on the dash and reflect the stop light into it so you can see it. They are on eBay all the time, originals and repops.

  21. I thought of that, but I can't see a whole lot of anything, so some sort of modification will be necessary.
