How does a "oil filled" Balancer work, what is the advantage of them & are they worth the extra money? Thanks JimV
Do you mean a "fluid balancer"? The material is not oil. They also have a life cycle and have to be replaced periodically.
I can tell you that a lot of high performance aftermarket cranks are coming with a warning in the box about using a fluid filled damper. That must mean something.
**** flat out says, use them and your crank will break. Lots of testimonials from circle track racers that break the nose off their cranks after as soon as one race in. Either a pioneer Sfi approved(quite affordable) or a ati super damper are the way to go.
