Exactly like this. An "original" look, but a fair bit lowered. This thing is perfect. the body has these front panels originally it was a 1 1/2 ton truck of 1940 vintage , the body though is the triple body line the same as the US 1938 model ford. I'm not sure how these came to be . A mixed bag of surplus body's from the US maybe ? Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!

First thing you should do is make sure you can get it ***led and registered before you spend money and time on it. What is the "arm" mounted on the door, it appears to be a signal device of some sort?

Yes a signalling device, if you hauled in on the lever you got a turn signal and if you pulled on the knob the metal hand turned up-right for stop position. it was a bit tricky with a stick shift, double clutching and worn steering box fully loaded coming up to an intersection Made even worse if the window was up
The '38 style body lines DO NOT mean it's a '38. It means the panels were stamped from dies originally used on US production '38 models. The US makers often used previous year (by then obsolete) dies for vehicles produced in other Countries. It was driven by economics, and nothing more. Look at '50s and '60s Aussie Chrysler products for a good example of this.
Take all the ideas from your original post (flathead, artillery wheels) and apply them to a couple or roadster. you will put the same effort in and have a more legit ride. The term highboy refers to hot rod that is not channeled.

There's not much to work with there to complete something like 28A pictured. Personally, if it were mine, I'd sell off the hood, chop the cab, set it on a ch***is and build a fenderless open-engined pickup rod, similar to what Anthony posted.
I agree with HRP. Full fendered truck would be awesome. Don't rat rod that thing.. we don't have many of those cabs left in Aus, so don't **** it up! How can you not like the truck in the pic i posted? Thing is perfect.
Another vote for a full-fendered truck. Two inspirational words if you're prone to thinking into more unusual territory, though: Marmon Herrington.
