high powered auction in california sold ermie immersos 32 ford roadster with ardun for 522,000 and change. everyone remembers seeing this car setting on 2 pr of ardun heads in all the magazines in the mid 90s .
In case you haven't noticed.... we don't care what a high dollar show car sold for. A better topic of discussion might be - what are you BUILDING? I'm not building **** currrently but I did manage to "Spread the Gospel" for about 100 miles today. JH
So what is the lowest price someone will sell me a '32 Roadster for??? My buddy just bought his '32 for $19,000 here on the HAMB. Damn I need one too.
The $'s don't so much concern me. The Ardun history does. So this car was seriously parked on top of two other sets? Real, or repop? And do we know the #'s of said heads?
Like P.T. Barnum said "there's an ***hole born every minute".......or something like that. ON A QUIET NIGHT YOU CAN HEAR AN OLD FORD RUST
I saw this 32 Ford roadster ' on tour ' in Atlanta at one of the big inside car shows. This was just after it won " America's Most Beautiful Roadster " ***le at Oakland. It was absolutely stunning. It it was sitting on two sets of Ardun valve covers.... This was before 1988.....so the valve covers MUST have been real.....I do not believe they had been reproduced at that time....but I do not know the # 's on the covers... The car was in all the high dollar car magazines at the time.......Ermie Immerso had LOTS of nice pieces....and had owned a header company at one time. Petersen Auto Museum ( Los Angeles CA..... ) was the high bidder.....and IMHO....is the proper place for the car. They have some real cool history there....before the Immerso car got there.....and even more now
I'am getting one (after the fire, but runs and driver) for just under $4,000. my friend and myself have about 180 hours in fixing and cleaning this car. this is the "Cooked Deuce".
Here it is...........NOT sitting on the valve covers..... http://www.braunco.com/auctions.asp?page_id=22 the above takes you to the Ermie Immerso auction......which is car related... .
Thanks for confirming who I thought was the winner, that car has a great second home now, and just adds to the prestige of one of the finest collections in the country.
