the grill opening in the fender may be different, better check that, also,GMC's have a parking light below the head light.Chev's do not.

47/53 fenders are the same except that the GMC has a park light in the fender rather than in the grill like the Chevy does. The 54 GMC fender has the same grill opening but has a big indent for the big park lights. The 54 Chevy Fender has a curved opening for the grill and won't interchange with the other fenders.

A 1/2 ton GMC is actually a 100 series versus a 1/2 ton Chevrolet being a 3100 series. GMC's didn't use the same series designations as Chevrolets did. Check out www.oldgmctrucks.com for more tech. info.

Front fenders grill openings are different on the GMC (NEW DESIGN) AND CHEVY (ADVANCED DESIGN)

The only difference in the 47/53 fenders that I know of is the hole for the park light.

This is a 54 GMC fender that someone pop rivited a patch over the indent for the park light and bondoed it in so they could use it on a Chevy.

    with the patch removed.
