Need help with deuce cowl vent

Ok I know it's simple but I can't seem to figure it out, how does the ratchet and spring go together on the cowl vent? I can't seem to figure it out, feeling dumb and needing some pics. Thanks in advance

Thanks for the help, looks like the gauge set up the way they aren't gonna let the ratchet sit at the angle it is supposed to, gonna have to fab something
