That grille is made out of German silver in the spirit of the Harry Miller racecars of the '20's and 30's.
Runs a pretty potent 2.3 Ford 4-cylinder with an Indy car cylinder head, a world class T5 trans and all custom machined everything. It's a little over the top but is and absolutely killer car. I must say I'm pretty proud to have been a part of the build.

  10. WOW!!

That's worth the price of admission right there. I love it.

The black roadster with the big inch wires, is nothing but bad-ass. The chassis work, the body, everything on it is top notch. I had the pleasure of seeing this car during its build. And yes, the car looks great, even though Pete worked on it.:D -Joe

When the owner gets home from SEMA, me and Pete will have to convince him that he needs an alternative look also.

My buddies here in the big "O" worked their asses off trying to get the body and paint done on that thing!! I told them they reminded me of Boyd's without all the dipshits! Dead lines dead lines dead lines.

Any pix of the "half" roadster from the Brookville booth that "Josh" was working on? I think that it had a race nose on it.

Thanks guys. The Roadster really is to much. A few more details:
    All hand made injection
Machined center section (Thanks for the pics Ryan)
No chrome, it's all polished or nickle plated
Dry sump oiling system (2 1/2 gallons!!)
Custom cut one off tires (He's got another set without tread on 'em)
Aluminum fuel cell, fullt polished (gotta look inside! You can see every weld in there!)
0.090 Chromoly frame shaped and tig'd by Dan.
    1/4 Elliptics w/leather wraps
    machined friction shocks
Polished stainless fuel, brake, clutch, oil, etc. lines.
I know there's more but it's early. I'll do a complete post with Dan and Ashley's (she owns the car) permission with complete build pics at a later date.

Wow 3 whole pages and no comments on the barracuda in the gear vendors booth. That thing was the definition of craftsmanship. I layed on the ground to check out the belly pan.
I think I liked to cuda in the primedia booth but not sure about the carbon fiber yet it looked neat but not sure aboout it yet.
The black roadster in the ford booth was uper cool. The cowl support under the dash was super cool and so was the doo latches. The dash or lack of was cool too. and that grille is super nice.

The guy selling manifolds through halibrand from down under had some bitchen induction systems. Pricey but really nice.

I saw more magnums, 300's, new mustangs, sky high superduties and 22 inch and larger wheels to last for a life time. I found some neat products from small companies that will be really helpful.

Plus I ordered my ercolina tubing bender and my Eckold kraftformer. SWEET. I'm thinkin abouty the piranha ironworker deal. It will punch a 1/2" hole in 3/4 material. Wow that might take my finger off or make brackets in seconds.

That Baracuda is being built by Rides by Troy, its a turboed 4 cylinder Mopar block, making rediculous amounts of horsepower, with a 1:1 drive ratio the last time I looked at it. I think come build pics are on his site now, and I agree, the craftsmanship on it is next to none. I wish I could have gone.

  29. Just a note on the '40 Convertible in the Ford display. It is not painted at all. The whole body is constructed from copper with the flames etched in. I thought is was a little on the homely side but the execution was fantastic. I cannot imagine what it would cost to make a whole car out of copper. The bare metal Cuda is owned by George Poteet and is a contender for racing on the salt next summer. It should break the record based on looks and engineering alone. There was also a concept engine on display that weighs 135 pounds and puts out 800 horsepower (hypothetically). It has eight pistons arranged in a circular tube-like cylinder and each piston has two complete four cycle events per revolution. That equates to 16 complete cycles for each revolution. Interesting concept if not a little far out.
