I wasn't going to post a comment, but I have just read this article on this "non existent" woman. Quite a story and well worth a read.

Perhaps there are too many of these "general" photo threads now? I can understand having a bunch of Model A, or vintage race cars, or whatever you want special threads, but as much fun as these threads are, we might be one over the practical limit for general images, IMHO. Gary

I visited the Garlits museum for the first time last year and plan to visit again next month with my 16 year old son (he's a dyed in the wool car guy who loves 50's rods and customs and is planning to attend a local college program for automotive restoration after high school). It's a great way to spend a day, especially if you include the Sonny's Pit BBQ just around the corner!

Back in the days before the auto in the northern US they would switch the horses from carriages to sleighs during the snow season and pack the snow to make it easier for the horses to walk on and the sleighs would pull easier. Horses could move tremendous loads on hard-packed snow:

Nice picture! My Dad took this pic in Lethbridge, AB, on a roadtrip with his buddies. They hopped in Dads 55 Chevy and took a cruise to see the 'new' cars at the dealership.

  21. That might be where he found it. Took him 3 or 4 tries & still wasn't sure if he got the right one. . .
