your fixing a chop that would be considered above average in the rat rod world. Excellent job and save.
Well here's the finished product, Got her in primer ready for the blocking. Now need to find a drivers front fender to have everything together. Oh and BTW, if you go up a couple posts and look for meatcleaver, he's the guy that did the chop and metal work.
Bill Hines makes those chops look so damn easy, I wish I had him for my body shop teacher years ago, I think I would have failed on purpose just for another go around. LOL
I have a 38 standard humpback I want to chop 3.5 inches or so. Ive chopped several trucks, and a few early ford over the years with great sucess, but I am a bit nervous about this one. Ive been studying over and over where to cut and how, especially in the rear roof area, and I'm guessing a later model donor roof would be best to fill the center gaps? This thread is a lot of help, more pics of the chop process would be great!!!
Here ya go Ed. I'll tell you though, and Im sure you know, Its cheaper and easier to have it done right than to fix it after some else has tried! Doug
Thanks, I'm a sheet metal worker by trade. I'm not scared, just needed a reference. Those pics help very much! Thanks.
