Just wondering in the front sheetmetal from a 1950 Desoto will fit on a 1950 Plymouth Business Coupe. Thought it might be a cool swap, just because
Definitely not. As posted above, the Desoto shares body parts with Chrysler and Dodge, the Plymouth was a small cousin who shared very little with the C,D,&D.
Seen alot of exports that dodge and desoto front clips. Just saying Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I wouldn't doubt that the sheetmetal would match the cowl and doors, but pretty sure the wheelbase will be different.
DeSoto - Chrysler body is wider than Plymouth. Longer wheelbase too. The Plymouth based Dodge, DeSoto and Chryslers built for export had special trim made just for them.
It'll fit, with a whole lot of cutting and welding. Well, get started! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
I agree with others that the whole clip will not interchange. But I think it would be relatively easy to mount the grille ***embly on your Plymouth. That is, after all, the essence of the Desoto.......the sheet metal contours appear alike.
