[/QUOTE]Finally after years of playing with cars I have finally found one I wanna hang on to. It's a 1954 Buick Super 4 door. Typical "barn find story" old man p***ed away years ago, got it from his wife and now it's mine to play with. really some awesome cars. Every time I look it over I find something cool about it. It's pretty much all original and verrrry complete. Having heater issues right now, fixed the duct from blower motor, got the cables moving for the vent system, blower motor is working, just doesnt seem to have very much flow. I'd love to drive it more ofter but its a little cold this time of year. any suggestions are welcome. thanks for looking! :)

Welcome from Ohio. My first car was a 54 Special that my Dad bought from a co-worker that thought the trans was going out of it. Turned out the guy had put 90wt in the dynaflow! We drained it and filled will atf and was good to go. I was in the 8th grade so it got a lot of yard and back road driving. Broke my heart when Dad traded it in on a 63 Wildcat, the up side was I ended up with the 55 Special that we had bought new so that was my first "legal" ride. Drove it til 69 when I bought my first 65 Skylark. Word of caution, always come to a complete stop when going from reverse to drive. If you don't you will flip the spague in the trans and the trans has to be pulled to repair, don't ask me how I know. I just bought another 55 Special to relive the good old days, you can't beat these old cars, enjoy yours!

Welcome from MN. if the air is not moving on a car that sat for years, and ***uming the fan is running, check for nests

Ha! Hadnt thought about nest in the duct work. however under the back seat is another story...
the fan works as it should on both high and low with the new duct disconnected. Yea I am pretty careful shifting the dynaflow. Is it common to hear a sort of humming noise from these transmissions? All in all I am very happy. I have just found a little corrosion in the radiator. (imagine that, corroded 60 year old br***??!) anyone ever uses champion aluminum replacements?
