Andy Kassa Coupe!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Mike Zenor, Dec 28, 2006.

  1. I do kind of have a soft spot for those air cleaners, any pictures of the finished product?

  2. I saw the Kassa Coupe at Lead East a number of years ago when the car was freshly restored by the members of Andy's car club. It was the very first time that I viewed a famous hot rod IN PERSON!!! You just cannot imagine how beautiful that rod is until you witness the car in person! I don't care what anyone says about this car's cyclops grilleshell - it was another great example of Barris' workmanship! It would just be another '32 among many other '32's!!!

I have a good friend who moved up to vermont from Andy's hometown in Jersey, he has an original poster from Andy's gas station announcing the coupe on display along with a model car contest.

Man I LOVE that car. So clean, and aside from the grill shell and tail lights, not radically altered from the earlier version.
Great to see it back out on the show circuit-even if only for a little while.
Kinda like taking an old drag car down the track again after 45 years.

Every version of this is cool in its own way, the blue they picked is beautiful.. I dig how they brought the wheel well opening up in the later sixties versions.

Seems to come from a Citroen Ami 6. Where could they have found this??? The Ami 6 was sold in the USA from 1962 to 1967 but with dual sealed beam headlights. This one is an European version. Ami-6_1961-1969_1-1030x773.jpg
