I know this is about a month old but.....

Wiring for the pump and sending unit for the gauge is pretty straight forward. Find a schematic for the year of donor.
Depending on the read out of the donor, the fuel level info may be sent to the ECM first and then to gauge in dash. Was the donor multi point injection or throttle body? The pressures that pump puts out could be as low as 30 psi and up to 60. Using a regulator to knock down the pressure to carb friendly 1.5 to 6ish is no big deal but a dead head to regulator may shorten life of that FI pump. Better would be a regulator that returns unused fuel back to tank, keeping fuel temps lower and helping extend to life of the fuel pump. Wire the fuel pump through a relay. I'd wire a hidden switch in that circuit as an anti theft help.

Not too difficult to change sending unit if needed to work with an alternate fuel gauge.

Let me know what parts you are using and I will try to help with what needs to be used.
