Hot Rods 32 Ford door handles

I just pickup some door handles for my 32 Ford 3 window My question is the base plate for the door handle. Most pictures I see the base plate is vertical. When I put the handle on I liked the look with the base plate horizontal . It flows better with the belt line.Does it make a difference?

 

Original doors have a little insert piece inside the door skin with two fine threaded holes for vertical mounting. As you are asking I ***ume your doors dont have this.
operationally it wouldnt matter if you put them horizontal.

 

Gl*** body..This was what Randy posted back in 2012 but his was a original Henry,with your car being gl*** if you like it turned sideways it's really not going to matter,,your car,make yourself happy. HRP

 

Hard to improve on the original Ford design! But it's your choice.
