Hey guys so I just put in a new fuel sending unit from early ford parts and filled up my tank. My gauge is reading at 3/4's full when it's filled to the top. Can the fuel gauge be adjusted to match or is there an issue with something else?

    Thanks,
    George

To the best of my knowledge, you will have to adjust the float, and or float arm. Sounds like the length or angle is off.

Hmm, I did it to the exact specs and measurements that was provided though.

Check and make sure you have a good ground.

That's the strange part the unit worked without the ground. I hooked one up anyways and it didn't change anything.

Take the sender out of the tank, then with it hooked up cycle it to full and empty and watch the gauge. If your gauge goes all the way to full and empty then you have to bend the float arm until it can do that in the tank. If not the sender is either bad or your gauge and sender do not match! Perfect, I'll give that a try. Do I bend the float up or down?

Measure the depth of the tank and bend the rod until it clears the top and bottom of the tank a little bit.:D Gary
