Omni, you can get a gallon and hardener and reducer for about $150.00. I have used it several times.

I have done 3 paint jobs using "Eastwood's single stage and they turned out great and are holding up well. I even used the same paint, mixing and blending to do my flame job on the roadster. The stuff is easy to work with.

    Hey,

What's under a top coat plays a big part in how well a paint job holds up!;) If the finish never got a good ''bite'' into what's underneith it, it's basicly playing a balancing act over the undercoat.:(

In the good old days of lacquer primer, which was very porous, and allowed the top coat to sink in and hold on well, you wouldn't see as many paint failures as we see today from dissimilar products used together. When the early poly, epoxy & urethanes came onto the market, we saw just how old the acrylic enamel resin technology was

If you're expecting acrylic enamel to return anything like the service life or duralibity of today's urethanes, yeah even the cheap ones, you're gonna be very disappointed !

It starts off good and then after a month its hard and chippy (if I drop a wrench or tighten a bolt on it). I don't throw rocks at it so I don't know how it will hold out on the road....

I give the primer plenty of bite (320 grit) for the AE, and mixed paint, hardener and reducer as directed. Right temp for reducer and flash times also followed.

  5. Omni = ****. seriously. If I was PPG I'd be embarr***ed to sell it. I've heard better things about shopline....but I'm afraid to try it after omni. Always been pleased with PPG's regular line delstar or concept. Omni is the proverbial whitewash.

Nason is pretty good. Good value for the money.

I've used both Wanda and Utech. Wanda base clear is awesome. Utech is okay.

Sherwin cheap line is (or was) Western, Acme, and the same stuff is NAPA's crossfire. I can't say enough for crossfire for a cheap paint. It's actually a really good value for the money. Most cheap paint is just more reducer per quart, Nason or crossfire you get alot more value then that.

  6. If you are in a Low VOC region-PPG Delfleet is a Low VOC compliant single stage urethane that sprays good, flows out well and has good gloss.
Easy to work with and can be color sanded and polished if you want that look.
Made for the commercial vehicle market(tough as nails) and priced very good for a brand name paint.
