I know everyone here has thumbed through hundreds of parts catalogs. I am working on our very first catalog. We have over 150 items. So I figured now is the time.

I am working on different layouts. Since you guys read catalogs, I want your opinion.

Spread A) Two page spread. One year car showing items that we make for that year highlighted

Spread B) Two page spread. One year car showing items that we make for that year highlighted with part numbers and specific item photos

Page C) One page. Typical catalog layout with identifying year on top. Parts are highlighted on vehicle.

You can click on the image to get a closer look

Which is easier to navigate or read? Which would you want to see in the catalog that you get in the mail every year?

    Thank You.

  2. I'd say B or C. I would always prefer to see photos of the actual parts. I like the way you have them highlighted on a photo of a car, but like the parts photos with it. Between B and C, B gives you more room for larger photos.

I like B best, then C next best.

    B is for me. Stu

  5. If A & B are spreads, you have text running right through the gutter that will be unreadable once the catalogue is bound.

If you really want my opinion I'd say hire a professional.

A much less expensive way of doing it is to just create a website.

This way you can change things without reprinting a catalog each year.

I had an 88 page catalog a number of years ago but once I had my website up and running it saved me thousands of dollars a year just not printing catalogs.

It's really not that hard to do. Jimbo

I understand. I would move the text so that it wouldn't be split. If it ends up being too much to do, I might hire someone. I don't mind spending the time to do it. Thank you

I do have an online listing of our items. Even with that, I still get a lot of requests for a paper catalog. I know the 'paper age' is ending but I was thinking of having them at shows and not mailing them out, if it makes a difference. But since you mentioned it, I should update our website store...

    Thank You

If you are talking about the links at the bottom

www.burtonantiqueautoparts.com - you'll have to copy and past it.

    EDIT --- I fixed it.

I like "C" but keep in mind most of my friends think I'm a dick.
