My first thread was deleted for some reason I am not sure so thought I would try this again.
Here is a breakdown of where I am now. I started with a bare model a frame the end of September and have worked almost daily to get where I am now. Hoping for summer cruises or at least Kalamazoo in September.

I noticed your headlights have been converted to sealed beam or halogen, at least not original lenses. What was done with this? I havent come up with a good ideas for mine.

I like that! Is that an original tow boom, or did you fab it from a pic?

I bought adapters off of ebay….They were pricey but by the time I bought large material and machined them myself i felt it was cheaper. Let me know if you want the link

That is an actual weaver auto crane has the plaques on the side and it is even a Canadian boom that was built in Chatham Ontario.

    Hi everyone,
Just thought I would update and let everyone know this project has not fallen of the jack stands so to speak.
I have started piecing it together and have completed the wiring and had it running, even using old barn board from my great grandfathers barn that was built around 1905 in the box and a piece on the dash
keeping all the dents etc. to portray that old beat up tow truck look.
Of course opinions are appreciated and not necessarily followed [IMG]

    Looks great!
    I'm following your build.

I'm building a '27 full fendered T Coupe, I like how your's is looking. Same type look I'm working on. But I built my own frame

Did you strech the running boards/splash aprons & hood to fit the motor with the fenders?

Is it posiable to show what the headlight parts look like, or does the link to them show them.

Id love to see the link as well if you can.

Also, where did you get the mirrors with the indicators?

I did stretch the running boards and have to stretch the splash aprons. The hood is a model a hood I took an inch off the length and reformed it to work. I am not putting hood sides just my preference. The mirrors I picked up from a vendor at the Kalamazoo show in September. I will try and pull the headlight apart and get some pics of the aluminum inserts that adapt the 7" lights. There is 2 aluminum rings and a large "o" ring that goes in. I bought them off of ebay some time ago it was cheaper than machining my own. I looked on ebay today and don't see them anymore and I can't recall where they came from.
Thanks for the compliment on the truck I am hoping spring comes early or I might have to try a few donuts in the snow.

TOM DAVIDSON, Please note the year of this truck and correct the year on the yellow one you took great picture of, the fenders are SOOOO different from 1925 to 1926, and the cab also..

    Hey everyone,
Still working like crazy on the tow truck and now need opinions on making the running boards from the old barnboard that I have from my great grandfathers barn or should I just use metal. Originals are not an option as I stretched the T out for a small block etc.
I would like to know what you all think.
    Thanks

Could you get another metal running board, and cut the end off yours, and cut the one you get into two, and matching the patern on it to the end, to the lenght you need. Same to the end of the splash apron, only just use sheet metal for tail end of that.

I'm keeping an eye out for a T pickup, or parts to make one. Open or closed cab. I really like the them, besides I need a pickup. I haul to much stuff to not have one.

That is just too cool. I've always loved the look of the T telephone booth cabs. Now you need a tall T coupe to hang on the hook.

Good Job I have a 27 Es*** Sedan cut 17 in. in middle, made a farm truck out of it. Really pisses the tradional Hot-Rod freaks out but to each his own. My Hot-Rod can earn its keep, and it has straight pipes. Build it the way you want. See ya in the spring. Don in Indiana.

Still plugging away, thanks for the positive feedback. the next months of winter are going to be the longest as this comes together and the urge to drive it increases.
Got the roof bows in and made the barn board running boards and barn board side panels for the box
Have a happy new year everyone.

I love yer ol truck! I have a 1 ton 26 closed cab express truck and want to put a wrecker on it
You asked for opinions---> Yer front tires are so wide it looks like you want to pave roads Hotrods always have big and littles. Bigger on the back is right for a truck and a hotrod.

  24. Phtttttt :p I know why you got deleted, it was that rotisserie built from engine stands that got you. :D

Neat truck, a little modern for my taste but neat truck.

Damn, I need to build a truck, I have something to haul all the time, not to have one.
But it needs to be from the T's, or a A. I keep looking, someday I'll find parts to make one.
