Trunk emblem script on 54 chevy

Sorry for a dumb question, but I'm new to the car scene. I bought the emblem that goes on the trunk lid and all it has is 4 little metal posts. How do I secure it to the trunk? Are backing to those little posts?

dtrain, take the emblem to the hardware store and tell them you need some fast nuts to fit. These are flimsy little sheet metal nuts that are self threading and tighten quick. They do not require much torque so just snug them up. harley
