I installed one of the under floor aftermarket power brake booster and master cylinder combos on my Model A. I am running disc in front and drum in the rear with the residual pressure valves. The problem that I am having is with the engine running the weight of the brake arm is keeping it from coming back up all the way after i use the brakes. I have everything blead and the car stops fine, but I have the pull up on the lever to get it to release all the way.
Has anyone else had this problem? Should I just add a return spring?

Had the same problem in my F-1 till I added a return spring from the hardware store.

  3. i had the same problem once on a TCI chassis...dics front/drum rear with power brakes. pedal would return fine without the motor running , wouldn't return all the way up when running. i have no idea why it was that way.

added a return spring like 31aboy did, worked great after that

    31aboy,

I have same problem you had on my 31 4 Door..

What style of return spring did you use?
Where on brake pedal did you mount it?

Would it be possible to show pic?

No matter, you FNG's do it alla time.

I'd suggest a tension spring, hooked to the clevis pin that holds the pedal to the pushrod, and hooked to whatever is nearby. But more what worries me is that you are asking a question about a spring that really should be extremely obvious. The spring needs to return the pedal to a resting position. Place appropriate spring to accomplish this. End of story.

Yeah, I'm crabby today - get over it.
