There are 2 ways. 1st: Machine off the AOD bellhousing and adapt a Cruis-O FE bellhousing to the AOD. Broader Performance is really good at this particular swap. http://www.broaderperformance.com/ 2nd: Buy an adaptor from Bendsten's or other similar manufacturer that goes in between the engine and bellhousing.
Ok I stand corrected, inflated the bag to max and it measures 8". Good thing I didn't start cutting yet.
Im also cutting the strut tower out and flat plating it. I believe this will make it easier to mount the upper cup and run the air line out. Of co**** I will have to strengthen the upper control arm mount since the strut tower is part of it. Il get some before and after shots up tonight.
question for you air bag guys. What valves are you using? For the guys that are only using a front/rear setup instead of individual bag control , do you experience any air transfer from side to side while cornering?
I plan on going with a front/rear system. I am not to worried about air transfer while cornering bc of obvious reasons, its a lead sled. I'm going to run 1/4" lines and I know this will be a slow fill but again I'm on a budget and already have all the fittings for the bags I acquired for free. Custom bag mounts up front are under construction. As for the valve system, I plan on using the paddle cluster I posted on the previous page. Bang for buck it seems like the best deal.
I'm getting my control panel at the end of the month. In the mean time Il be tabbing the front bag cups and doing some stick welding to strengthen the frame.
Sounds great! I have my 56 and f100 on the back burner since no time and funds and have taken time off of work for my daughter. Hopefully back up and going soon
Family takes priority. The projects will be there when your ready to get back into it. I hope everything with your daughter turns out fine.
Front is all welded up just need to get shocks installed. I went with the relocators and welded them to the inside of the frame rail. I will mount my shock to the lower control arm. My panel and rear bag mounts came in so I will be getting started on that shortly. Had to cut out some inner front fender and rear floor pan but that's the cost of laying down.
Love the build I'm building a 56 medalist too. I'm not bagging mine, don't have the money for it. Check out my build page let me know what ya think. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
