Whatever you do, don't buy from SummitRacing. They changed suppliers some time ago and their wheels are now the cheap and shitty looking ones.

I've got 2 sets of US Wheel 'Supremes' and now 1 more recent pair of some nameless brand.
The spokes of these wheels appear 'wavy' and the rear part of the wheel is now a simple ring welded on only a couple of locations to the front part. The center-part is not connected to the spokes anymore. Obviously a way weaker design then the US Wheels-versions are.

Not sure if you can spot the difference here, but the first pic of a US Wheel-version I bought some years ago, and the 2nd pic is of just a couple of months ago...
(I don't have pics from the back sides yet to show the more obvious differences.)

that's weird, Summit carries multiple brands of them. You might want to look before you give that advice. They still carry the US Wheel stuff as well as Wheel Vintiques and Cragar ones. I bought the US Wheel ones from them about 6 months ago or so.

for the most part no.

Cragar can be gotten in actual bolt patterns, most all the others are uni-lug. The US Wheel ones are good. There are some cheap no name ones on eBay that I find questionable. The major brand ones are ok, the no name I'd stay away.

wheel vintiques has bolt pattern direct fitment wheels also. they are more money then the uni lug and do look a little different on the hub design, but you'd probably never notice. i think i paid about 160 per wheel last year in 15x6"

I really wanted the bolt pattern specific ones, but no one had them in stock when I needed them.

We put a set of the U.S. Wheel Astros from Summit on my friends Shawns Buick last spring right before the Road Rocket Rumble - they had the reinforcing bar on the back.

By the end of September the front ones were bent - as in the centers weren't 'true' any more.

He swapped them front to back just to get around till he could get them swapped out and a month later the other two were tweaked too.

Not sure if it's the weight of the car, the fact that it's bagged or ??? but they sure didn't last long.

14. im getting a set of wheel vintiques for Christmas, these are the good ones right????

www.kiwishipping.co.nz/kiwi-shipping/LVVTA_AstroSupremes.asp Didnt realise there were several manufacturers but here in NZ there has been a recent blanket ban on any new car wearing supremes (new meaning new build to be safety checked for on the road) If you already have them it, Ok (at your risk) But the "experts" say there is and has been failures of welds.[IMG]

I bought mine from COYS. They had the best price and good service. At the time they were offering free shipping or free lugnuts.

Some do not even have the gusset plate you see in this pic.

I have run the gusseted ones on my 3/4 ton 54 GMC pickup and took them off. I would never run even the gusseted ones on a trailer.

I've had these US Wheel versions on my car for nearly three years now, no problems. I haven't seen any problems with this style of gusset.

zman, my reaction probably was a bit unthoughtful, but it was the same reaction when I opened up the boxes when I got these.
They didn't come with US Wheels decal on the center cones. I'll try to find out what brand my most recent Supremes are and report back.
In any case, they look exactly like the ones Kiwi4d has posted. I would really like to find out which fkn company made this crap and further more why Summit seems to sell these aswell.

23. my us wheel ones have the exact plates like the ones kiwi 4d posted, they were also in unmarked boxes and didnt say us wheel on the caps.
