Does anyone know the start/end production dates in Detroit MI for the 1955 De Soto plant? I know about the Chrysler Historical Collection site and have made my inquiry. Just not holding my breath.

Thanks Tommy! Trying to decipher the VIN, to include the actual production date, while waiting on spring to get here.

  4. Not sure about DeSoto in particular, but generally production began/begins in August and ends in July. For instance the '55 model year began Aug 1954 and ended July 1955.

I was thinking the same time frame which means my 55 Fireflite 2dr Sportsman is about to have its 59th birthday in mid-February. Maybe she'll get a repaired/replacement radio for her present.
