not sure what happened to my 57 Desoto Corral paint hrtp -it came out of Fry's when we crushed the place - traded it and the 57/58 Chyslers for my 56 300.....all less motors....will give Greg a call...

  4. So has Danny!!! Haha!! ;) just kidding Danny, you know I love your wagon.

  5. The car I got my driver's licence in was a 57 DeSoto s/w. Big bore poly engine.
My older sister and I used to tear up the streets in northeast Dallas with that bus!
inmyarrogentopinion that car is so worth saving. Will a 383 fit?

It was a beautiful car for sure. But it was REALLY far gone. The upper deck area surrounding the trunk lid was completely rusted out. The frame was shot. These cars come up for sale from time to time, so I really think it was (is) a good parts car for a more viable car. Yes a 383 will fit - the B and RB engines were introduced for '58 which is basically the same car.

    ;)

Do you still have any '57-58 Chrysler parts? I'm looking for a few things for my '57 Chrysler. I don't know who Greg is, but please ask him if he has anything too. :D

  7. Story time: I went to the salvage yard for a part for my wifes FWD daily driver about 15 years ago and as I was walking through the yard I noticed a 62 Plymouth 4 door in the line awaiting the crusher. It was a little old lady 6 cylinder car in almost perfect condition, but it had been run into a tree or telephone pole and the left front fender and front bumper were crunched pretty badly, but the rest of the car (even the inner fenders were still straight as an arrow) was NICE. They said that they couldn't sell me the whole car since they didn't have a ***le, so I asked if they had any 62 Plymouth PARTS that they'd be willing to sell. The guy behind the counter smiled and said YES as a matter of fact we DO!!! I bought the parts and the whole container that they were bolted to for $300. :) Funny thing is that when I got back home I handed my wife the VISA receipt... for about $340. When she asked why the one part for her car was so much, I mumbled "Oh yeah, I also bought another car there...". She laughed and said that she wasn't going to let me go shopping without her any more.
The parts car ended up at the guy near Pittsburgh who specializes in Max Wedge and Super Stock Mopar parts, and it helped save a few other really cool cars.

About that same time I also responded to an ad in the local Trading Post for a "pair of '71 Barracuda doors" and found out that the guy had a whole wrecked car and he mistakenly thought that the only parts worth salvaging were the doors, and he was going to s**** the rest of the car as soon as the doors were sold. I bought the whole car! Oddly, he wanted the same price for the whole car as he did for the pair of doors. He was happy to get rid of it all!
