a very long time ago... There was a thread (pretty sure it was here). the person had a car they were going to seel as they were moving. but the car was a 61-63 buick I believe. they had narrowed the rear quarter panels to leave rear wheels fully exposed. the front axle was a straight axle moved in front of the car. it was a beautiful start to a very cool Buick. I lost the link when my computer crashed. Now I have spent 3 days searching for this car. I want to know what every happened to it or at least see what it looked like back then. Ritch
it was not an El Camino, I was a 62 skylark but I think he called it a special I recognized the chrome trim as a 62 skylark I owned several of these cars in my youth. I also owned buick specials from this time period also.
funny - I finally found it and I was wrong. It was a 1961 olds. Boy my age is starting to show.... http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=468279&highlight=inspired+by+ed+roth+plowboy+racerdad I guess I dont know waht a rat rod is??? I like this car too. It reminds me of the cars being built in the 60's by Barris and roth and the other masters of mod of the era. Is there something here in HAMB explaning what a rat rod is and why they would be deleted??
