    I picked up 1949 styleline all original no engine still three on the tree I also came across a 235 from a nova I'm gonna drop in it hearing that I have no options for a automatic with the stock rear end drive line deal what kind of freeway speed am I looking at ?

    I don't think Nova's had 235s

    I was told so and while looking for inline six 216-235 to use through friends and craigslist found a handfull seems they all said they were pulled from a nova ?

    It's probably a 230. Here are the available motors for Nova's. Check out Rebel wiring for the harness.

    153 cu in (2.51 L) I4
    194 cu in (3.18 L) I6
    230 cu in (3.8 L) I6
    283 cu in (4.64 L) V8
    327 cu in (5.36 L) V8

    Sorry but that's a negative for a 235 in a nova....but good luck on the project. If you want an automatic id swap the rear end out for an open driveshaft rear end out of a nova or an s-10, they are almost a direct bolt in.

    So I got the casting numbers its a 194 is it st all possible to Mount to my 49 3 speed need a bell housing from something or should I just say screw it and save up for a 327 and trans

    go with the 327, the 194 won't be able to get out of it's own way in that '49

    I am still new to this, but I think the 194 and 235 have different bellhousings.

    Yeah guess I'm gonna have to say screw it I was trying to use the trans and rear end for a bit but I know where I can get my hands on a 55 rear end for cheap any suggestions on what donor to steal a drive line from also front clip suspension usable? I know got a weld in mounts for small block and a ****** cross member but ? Do I got change to mistang 2 or anything

    Find a good 235, it's very close to a bolt-in process. The 194, not so much.
