I moved your post over here so more folks can help. Pictures of your car and a scan of that old program would help tremendously. If you need help/have questions, feel free to ask! And welcome to the H.A.M.B.!
Yea. It sounds interesting but we need more information. Picture would help a bunch. And I think you mean "provinance".
According to the "White Pages" website there is a Michael Duda (age 65+) listed in the Stafford Springs, Connecticut area. You have to sign in to that site to get info like address or phone number.
I purchased the 40 in Pennsylvania a coupla years ago.....It came with the original custom Naugahyde (dated 1964) interior that was installed over the original beige......It was professionally restored in 2006...everything brought back to life as new or replaced....Had rusty original Cragars.....Since replaced with Chinese racing torq thrust D's Still the 5X5.5 bolt pattern....Just put on Pete & Jakes Front discs and Shock kit for the chrome straight axle Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. .......You got me on that one. Good eye. It's derived from the French, provenir, meaning derivation and can actually be spelled provenience (Latin) for origin, but you are correct, the most widely accepted spelling is provenance...Thanks.

Really interesting interior stitching. I've seen many diamond pleated and buttoned seats, but never with the outline pattern like this. Even though it has that 70's vibe it still looks kinda contemporary. Very nice.
My first impulse was to replace the interior.....Driving it home 1200 miles on I70 at 80 MPH ( it had a 270 non posi 9 inch...which is now a 370 Posi) EVERYONE of the 7000 potholes that I hit was like co-jumping on a mini- tramp with an elephant. No seatbelts ...Spent most of the time steering from the passenger side until I figured that straight axles DONT like rough surfaces.....Now I just drive on perfectly smooth roads ...Yeah ..Right ( like the 3 miles of gravel to get home)......Took the seat out to discover that the horsehair in the 60 coils was gone......Found a local guy who sewed , stuffed and wired everything together...new burlap tubes. He and my wife CONVINCED me to keep the interior after seeing the date on the underside of the really THICK Naugahyde. Now the seat sits like furniture....And I'm warming to the ugly diamond tuck. .......Nothing wrong with that interior. It would almost be a shame to replace it considering the history there. Good luck with the inquiry, hope it's the same guy who owned it back in the day.
It's just another 40 with an interesting dash plaque on the firewall if you replace the interior. I thought good luck tracing any history by how the outside looks until I scrolled down and got to the interior shots. That's what makes the car special!
I remember driving a '40 coupe to the Nationals when I was an 18 year old, and Mom and Dad followed in their hot rod behind us. At the first gas stop they told us we looked like we were jumping up and down in the car. Big ol' bouncy seat!
Just got off the phone with Michael Duda.....WOW! Pete's Upholstery of Vernon , Conn did the interior in 1964....the Forty spent its life as a show car beginning in primer in the 1961 Springfield Mass Show.....Michael put it up in the seventies and sold it to a friend in Florida in 2002....I'm tracing from him onward......NEVER DROVE IT.....TRUE TRAILER QUEEN....HENCE NO RUST. NO COLLISION DAMAGE.. ..Michael said he has trophies he will send me....THANKS TO H.A.M.B. And to YOU GUYS!!!!! Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
