Hey hey hey... Why is everyone bashing scrappers? Theyre not all bad, I got a bunch that grab neat old stuff and give to me... I typically keep some scrap around and trade weight. But last week I swapped 2 beat up hoods for a jeep and a ranger for 2 63 truck doors. Sometimes I go to my shop and someof the guys just drop off gauges/ carbs, and even a 409 one morning...
Theyre not all morons, if your friendly with them they wont take your shit and maybe theyll even bring you some goodies...

True that, but I have had many more negative run ins with them than positive. Most running through our neighborhoods speak no English, either. It is my thought that this probably went down the alley on a shopping cart though...

  4. When I used to save up scrap, I'd wait until I had a big enough amount then I'd cash it in. That might where the cowl is right now.

We had an incident a few months back by me. My neighbor is a plumber and works out of his garage. I'm outside & someone comes around with a truck (nice late model pick up) and is asking if the plumber is around. I say I don't think so, you may want to give him a call on Monday morning. It sounded like he knew the guy.

Later the next week, my wife gets a call from the plumber's wife, she handles the books, etc. The same guy with the same truck, they caught him snooping around the yard in the middle of the day. He says that he's friends of OURS.

My neighbor pulls out his cell phone on the spot and dials the cops. The guy left right away, my neighbor gave his plate #, etc to the cop who showed up.

I never said it was a good idea, nor would I have agreed with it on any level, I just said it worked for him. For what its worth, it turned out to be his own cousin, damn near ripped his family in two.

I haven't ventured that far north yet, but probably will in the coming days.

I gotta say thank you guys for keeping this on the front page as much as possible. I'm still playing detective diligently, but I'm kinda running cold on leads at this point. I'll keep at it...

Here in New Jersey we are having a big problem with scrappers stealing everthing you can think of thats made of metal. Its an easy way for quick cash and the scrap buyers seem to look the other way. It sucks !!!

I know your pain. I just updated my thread about my trailer and '55 Imperial that was stolen 2yrs ago. I found my trailer on Monday chasing another thief. I never thought I would get it back but I was always looking for it. I'll keep my eye's open here in Arkansas.

    HA! Happy Ending!!!!

    The hood was recovered today!!!!!

My buddy asked me to keep the circumstances under my hat, but lets just say it involves a crazy, soon to be ex-wife..... Even knowing what he is going through with this one, lets just say even I didn't see that one coming!

Thank you guys for keeping this bumped to the top this last week or so, I really appreciate it!!!!

That's great news. Some may take this the wrong way, and I mean no harm, but I have always said that it is a wonder that there are not more dead ex-wives and dead divorce lawyers.
