I have been working on the hood and nose of my Fiat. I need to come up with an air induction setup for it. Just not sure which direction I want to go with it. My first thought was a Hilborn style scoop to mount to the carb. I have also thought about a scoop built into the hood raised up to make room for a air cleaner on the engine. The engine sits high enough in the ch***is that I do not think I will be able to fit everything under the hood. Also, it has good breathing heads so I do not want to restrict airflow. What do you guys think? Any Ideas are appreciated. Thanks, Bob
I have a Hilborn style scoop that I will give you for the price of shipping if you want it. Scott Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
How's that look Bob? (6-71 and Holleys not included!) Scott Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
What he said. LOL. I was thinking the exact same thing! No disrespect meant. I don't know if I have ever seen one with a scoop. I would probably go after something more along the lines of a G***er Style scoop and stay away from anything past or present Pro-Stock looking! Maybe even something simple and clean like an AC Cobra scoop.
The 6-71 is taking up to much of your work space. I have a lot of extra room here if it is taking up to much room for you.
It has a two piece bottom plate, but it should be pretty straight forward to fab a single carb bottom plate if you like. Scott Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
If u really want to get crazy buy a junk 4 port injection and mount it about half way in the hood then mount powersfter's scoop on top, you'll have people looking to see if there's a Hemi underneath it. Lol
Rocky, You are correct. That is exactly the look I am not wanting. That's a cool little altered. Seen on the computer for sale at one time if I remember right.
The Hilborn would be my choice, and the two piece bottom plate for dual carbs could easily be reworked. Just use the front bottom plate to center on your carb, and then add material front and rear to close the rest in. I'd keep it fairly low, so the lower edge of the Hilborn is below the hood line. They look better that way if you don't have carbs or injectors attached to the bottom of the scoop. I also like them a little higher in front, to give some at***ude. Remember if your frontend tilts the opening needs to clear the rear of the scoop. The higher it is, the larger the hole behind to clear!
If u don't want it to tall find a short stack, I have one I've been converting to electronic for my blown Hemi but no luck so far!
Check out VFN fibergl***. I went with a large version of a super duty scoop. Posted using the Full Custom H.A.M.B. App!
