Ok so a few quick questions. I am having fun actually building up a 250 that I picked up a little while ago for my ranchero. The goal is a nice daily driver that gets fair gas milage and has fair power. Here's the low down. 1977 ford 250 l6 block from a 77 maverick. It ran but I decided on a rebuild/build for it. So far the block is in for machine work. looking at .020 over, am getting a 1969 timing chain to correct the timing, howard cam 267 duration 110 lobe seperation and .450 lift, factory 250 large valve head with 2 bbl adapter and autolite 2100 carb 1.02 venturi for 245 cfm and 302 valve springs, and finally a ford duraspark ignition. Once I sell some more stuff I also plan on headers. My question current question is on lifters. In reading cl***ic inlines offers Ford FE style lifters and SBF lifters for the 200/250. can anyone tell me the interchange for lifters? Summit has FE style lifter for a good price and if I can go with them I would much rather do that then paying easily twice that for a specific 250 lifter which appears to be the same in every way. Any advice or experiences with this engine would be appreciated.

I did a quick search on Rockauto.com and yes, FE lifters are the same as for the 200/250. 289/302 has lifters with a different number so I don't know if they interchange.

I've had good luck with Rockauto for the most part. If you order more than one item, you do have to watch the shipping costs though. If the parts come from different warehouses, the shipping costs can add up quickly.

Alright thanks for the information. I will do some more reading over on fordsix and see what I can find.

I'm building a 28 modified with a 200 six. I'm using a world cl*** GT mustang T5. Can't hardly wait for the first test drive to see how it runs.

That sounds exciting. The C4 makes for a slow go but im hoping with enough done to the engine it will have at least a little get up and go for some fun.
