I would like to mount a license plate onto the front spreader bar of my A sedan, I have seen a few mounts online and they are more than $60 for a pair and speedways cheaper $30 mount is only available in 1-3/4" or 2" diameter (mine is a 1-1/2" bar), has anyone used a set of motorcycle fork turn signal clamps for this application? http://www.ebay.com/itm/Motorcycle-...Parts_Accessories&hash=item3f2efd711e&vxp=mtr The above mount is for a 39mm (1-1/2") diameter tube which is the same as the spreader bar diameter. This mount would only allow for 2 screws into the plate instead of 4 like the other mounts. Any advice would be much appreciated. BTW I am from Vancouver BC, Canada where a front plate is mandatory.
i don't think that eBay one would give enough support with the wind at highway speeds go with stock as suggested or make one yourself out of aluminum....maybe 1/2" thick? band saw it out , bore a hole , split it ,then drill and tap. it would be a nice simple project
Yes I saw the original style, where it bolts through the bar, but I would prefer something that is removable.
That looks awesome, I like how it cuts off the bottom of the plate behind the bar, might have to make up something like this.
This will be bolting onto the rear of the spreader bar on my 30 coupe. just waiting to get things more together to set the angle. May not be hot rod traditional, but the clamp/support parts are pre 48. Just another idea for thought. Canuck
