`I am beginning a restoration on a 1951 Cranbrook and of course am trying to make the right choices on how to go about this. I am a novice at this and any input would be appreciated. If someone has experience with this type of restore and would offer advise it would be appreciated. I am not looking to restore it original and in fact have a 1987 Chevy truck and a 2008 chevy van that i plan on using parts from. My idea as of now is to use the rear end from the truck and the drive train from the van. I want to put disc brakes in the front and will use the drum brakes from the rear end of the truck for the rear. I want power steering and of course A/C and would like to use the parts from either vehicle to accomplish this. Any advise is welcome. I have the car completely dismantled and i am in the process of welding the bad spots on the floor of the car. I have the frame cleaned and coated with Rust X and will tackle the frame next. The body will be spot blasted and coated with Rust X and slowly put back together. Again thanks for any advise.
