Can someone give me an idea if this type Simpson camlock harness was used in the late 60's ?
I'm gathering all the parts I need to finish my original 57 Corvette gasser and I need some proper restraints but I'm not sure this type will do.

No , that style was introduced late 80's. What was used in your timeframe was either the military latch & link or the twist-punch parachute style

If you are using them for restraints, there is no reason not to use a new harness. There is a reason they need to be changed out every few years per NHRA.

Right now I am trying to build the car period correct, sort of form not function as it will be a driver.
If I do decide to race it I will go with new stuff.
    Thanks for your input.

Period correct latch & link are available new with sfi tags, the OP was just concerned about the camlock being too futuristic.

Also note that racing belts are not legal subsitutes for the crappy DOT belts that come with cars now if this applys.

I was referring to the stiches and webbing deteriorating with age. The last thing you want, is the harness to fail and bounce your head off the rollbar, if you were in an accident. People are too busy doing everything else, but paying attention to the road these days. Unfortunately, many people have died as a result of accidents in cars with rollbars.

I can understand your desire to be period correct. You may be able to have a set of old style latch and link re webbed. Simpson, Impact, and others will re webb out dated harnesses. It is very cheap, usually under $100.
