I have a 1965ish Saginaw 3 speed overdrive I found in a junkyard. It was in a 3/4 ton panel truck and had a two piece drive shaft. My problem is I can't get the slip yoke to come out. I know the truck drive shaft had a slip yoke on the rear section.

Did you look for a bolt holding the yoke on? if it uses one, you should be able to s****e away the grease and **** and see it. If not, then maybe there's something wrong with the trans, like it spun the rear bushing or something.

cant find any bolts on yoke, ****** turns nice and smooth. I've lightly beat on the yoke with a hammer thought it might be rusted to splines, since in the truck it didn't slide in and out at that point.

Its probably rusted onto the splines, it should slide out. Mine does.

I bought a '69 truck with manual ****** and two piece driveshaft. The mid-shaft had a standard slip joint like every other ****** I have seen.

    I say it's rusted too. ^^

Sorry if I am beating a dead horse here....but on trucks with 2 piece driveshafts it is VERY common for the ****** yoke to be fixed and held in place by a bolt, as has been said in prior posts. Not knowing your experience level, please do not be offended by my comments, but the bolt, if there is one, is at the back of the splined section of the yoke, "hidden" behind the u-joint cross and could be difficult to see. It doesn't seem likely to me that the splines would be rusted since they are continuously exposed to trans lube.
