    Hello all,

My goal is to have my Model A pickup painted by summer. I'm hoping there are some people from the NW who could recommend a paint shop near Portland. I'm doing 99% of the metal work (patch panels and finish welding), there will be some dings and dents which need to be hammered out, but mostly lots of filler/sanding work in addition to the paint.

In case it makes a difference, I'm having the body sandblasted before I deliver. I would like to have it epoxy primered and topcoated with PPG concept SS DCC 9300 (black).

"How much do you want to spend?", you ask? I have budgeted 2 - 3k since it's a small vehicle and my expectations are relatively low.

Some shops seem to come and go, and reputations change, therefore I don't want to rely only on search history.

    Thanks,

    Aaron

Earl Schrieb does a decent job here in the midwest.

you should ask this in the NW HAMBERS group. Lots of guys on there that do not get on the main board as much, but would be happy to help and would know a few good places. NPC might be able to do it. He owns a shop and paints a bunch of cars seems like they do a great job. I know they enjoy helping a fellow hamber

  6. I think your a little light on the budget for any main stream Body Shop. Where I have seen outstanding "Driver quality" body and paint in your budget is the Maaco on Andreson rd in Vancouver. They just did a 56 F-100 for my best friend and will soon be doing my 53 F-100. 3 weeks in and out and for exact price quoted. Something that never seems to happen in regular Body Shops. Take a drive, talk to Tim. What do ya have to loose?

If I wanted a really nice job and wasn't afraid to spend a little money, I'd see if Don Lowe out in Oregon City could work your car in.

Also you could try Cascade View Body & Paint. Several of my friends have used them.

If you want to raise your budget a little for a nice long term investment job look up Redbeard's Custom Body and Paint. (503)-915-9742. Don't think you can get a better job for the price or personal connection through the job and future work down the road.
