That is on my list too Paul! I need to get a stock Cad dist. and see if I can modify a Chev style to fit. I just want the correct one for my motor, it is obviously tough to find, makes it more fun. The big thing on the W&H is the cap. Incomplete pop up quite often, but caps are rare.

I checked on my DuCoil and it is #D62CB. Sounds like it won't work for you.

I know you want an old hot rod dizzy for looks if nothing else, but the stock Caddy dizzy can be modified to use the Chrysler electronic system. Parts are everywhere and it really wakes up an old engine. The advance curve and vac advance doesn't need major changes. This system will out perform any old dual coil system it just won't look as cool.

This is an old Mallory for a flat head. I've run it for 7 yrs with a generator without a hiccup.

    Peddro,

Did you ever scan these in? If so, can you email 'em to me?

Just picked up an old Magspark coil - would like to convert my dizzy to work with this unit - it's just so funky looking!

Anyone have any other schematics for the magspark coil?

    TIA

  6. Geez Ernie.....you got me there....I can't remember!! I think I did scan them but have no idea what I've done with the file. Maybe Brock still has it...IF I emailed it to him.
I'll have to try and dig the mallory out. I'm movin' house so it's buried in storage at the moment. PM me in a week or so if Brock can't help you out.

    Aww, c'mon! It's only been 2 years! :D :D

Don't sweat it - moving house is painful enough. I'll sort something...

Surely someone else has some good instructions on wiring these nastys.

I've recently gotten the funky looking magspark coil - in the original box w/instructions, but it's for a dual-point conversion on a '49-51 Ford/Merc (P/N MS-6VPFM). Consequently, all the instructions (which are hard to read) are for use with their conversion breaker plate.

I also have an old Mallory dizzy, but I think it's a regular dual-point - not necessarily designed to run with a magspark. Anyone know? It's a YB247AX.

Brock, I got my vintage Mallary from a guy who does conversions to Pertronix stuff. I am sure you are not wanting the new electronic conversion but I can see if I can find his number. He dealt in only dist and their upgrades but told me when I was looking for one, he would sell me it without the upgrade.

I will see if I can find the number and post it for you
