Been a lurker for a little while here but I have few posts on the Old Farts. I stated building my first car a 37 chev as a 18 yr old but I soon gave up on that. I then started building a t bucket which I've now had for 35 yrs that I have many miles on. I have a 29 on 32 rails that is a good all round driver. I have a lot of parts for my next project a 30 roadster that will be more of a 50s car that I have always wanted but was sidelined after coming across a 34 5w in California that I bought when I was there in '08 that was too good to p*** up. I have just about finished doing a RH conversion on it now then the hiboy build begins. I'm from the west coast of Australia.
Well the internet has certainly made this a small world. The first reply I get is from one of the locals down the road. Thanks Trevor and everyone else for the welcome. This is one big place I've had to subcribe to a couple of threads to keep up with it everyday.
Welcome aboard from way over here! Yep, the net makes it a small world, but the H.A.M.B. makes it even better! Several threads? That's just the beginning! Might need to set an alarm clock, cause time flies when you are here. How's the Doo Wop scene over there?
Just like everything else on the west coast of Australia everything is smaller. Parts of the east coast are bigger but generally not so big. That's why we keep coming over for a visit. Our 1000 car Nats to your 12000. I myself have been over four times and done NSRA events, Goodguys, Bonneville,Hot August Nights and more and it's been good. After my last visit I heard Back to the Fifties mentioned a lot so I was planning that for this year but at the moment I have it on hold depending on how work goes here. We're only a smalll scene but we make the most of it here.
