Anybody know who makes a set of chromed wishbones? I know speedway sells the plain, but due to time restraints, I do not have the time to locate a good chromer. Todd
get the plain ones and send to Brown's Plating in Peducah, you wont be disappointed. They will have em back to you in about a week.
Don't know of anyone that offers them, but that's not to say they don't exist, like the previous poster said, have them chromed. HRP
I can't find them on SoCal , but then again I can't find anything on their website, I'll give them a buzz, if not, any other good platers in my area?
So, we can buy a plain steel part for let's say 74.99 or the chrome version for 89.99. Buy the plain version and take it to the chrome shop and its 150.00 to chrome the damn thing. Maybe the quality isn't exactly the same - but come on. There's no way you'll get that part plated for 15.00 and there's no way to get 135.00 of extra quality plating into a 75.00 part.
Spoke to Brown's plating in Ky. he said 200-250 5 day turn around works for me thanks guys. I'll let you know how they turn out. Todd
Industrial Metal Kraft in Vegas makes them in plain steel and in stainless with forged ends just as Henry did it back in the day. The stainless ones will polish up to chrome standard and last longer...and price will be way cheaper. Industrial Metal Craft Inc, 4715 W Harmon Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89103, phones: (702)873-8664
If they were any good then they would be available for viewing online with pictures and a website. But they aren't so ?
Ya know, not everybody that does this stuff is computer friendly. I know sooooo many top craftsmen that live around here that have never, and probably never will turn on a computer. It took a good friend literally locking me in his extra office about five and a half years ago to get ME on here! Just saying, I don't knock someone's product 'till I see it.
Most of the cheap chromed parts lack the copper layer and lack in the polishing quality. You get what you pay for i'm afraid.
That was kind of what I was getting at, I'd like to see them but could not find anything. Since I live a long ways from them online would be the first chance to research.
Sure didn't sound like what you were getting at and judging by the at***ude you normally post with I would have taken it the same as Need Louvers.
Or..... Send them to St. Louis Chrome in Belleville Ill. He actually sprays chrome paint in a rainbow of colors. He can even fade one color into another. I'm going to have my suspension parts Black Chrome.
Google and then images. You'll find a few pics and articles. A few. Trust me on this one- big advertising budgets get paid for by compromising someplace. Hopefully it's not quality of the parts but a cut in their salary lol.
Don't know what you mean. At***ude ? I may occasionally be opinionated but not much more so than you or anyone else can be at times. I tried to research the name and didn't find much so I was left wondering. Nothing wrong with that. I'd like to see the product mentioned.
I didn't find anything, probably didn't dig deep enough I suppose. Edit: A search for pictures brought up a few. They look like a nicely made product. The ones I saw have a slotted hole for the steering link to p*** through.
http://www.rodandcustommagazine.com/techarticles/0810rc_old_ford_wishbones/photo_12.html Here's some - Google - industrial metal craft and you get yellowpages type business contact info (Anyone remember the yellow pages? Damn I miss them) Hit images , and you'll get some pictures of the bones. Chase the pic back to the website and poke around. There's not much but there is some
Heres a link to an older post about them http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/archive/index.php/t-202286.html I went to see them being made in 2008 while in Vegas, very nice but very pricey. So-Cal Vegas might be the best source for finding out about them.
And up pops another thread on bones by Industrial metalcraft and it has a picture too. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=864128
