Hi Dan,I know you mentioned you checked with the tri 5's site,as with the hamb or any other huge forum its easy to link up with people who have no idea what they are talking about or the info is just buried so deep somewhere its sometimes impossible to uncover

I approached this search under the assumption that you had some old paperwork or records that can provide the 57's vin #

its a longshot and the odds are against you but it would appear that with alot of letter writing, talking to the right people, detective work and luck this may be able to help track down the car....if you have the vin #

this thread is ??? a couple of years old and with all our collective hamb efforts have came up with nothing, maybe we can explore a different approach of sorts

    heres the link http://www.trifive.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-4028.html

the record keeping and rules about privacy seem to vary from state to state,so it depends on which state/states it traveled thru as to the amount of hoops you'll have to jump thru

as with anything theres gonna be 1000 people fire off in response to this saying"I tried it,and it didnt work, impossible, waste of time,i knew a guy once..." maybe so,Im just trying to think outside the box

It also seems rules about this stuff change periodically too,if you got the door closed in your face a year ago by some government agency,it might be worth a call back today

on a different note,I have a question...the day you had the 57 sitting there and the motor ready to install, what was the thought process behind your choice to choose the interior vs the engine compartment??

    thanks and good luck!

Just wow..... and I wonder if this is a car I worked on at one time. I worked at Wayne Cronan Auto in Ontario in the early 70's and we had a gold 57 set up like this brought in needing head gaskets.
