Hey Eric, not sure of what you have planned, but now is a good time to get someone to come in and lay down some pinstripping on your firewall, if that is your thing, they could go crazy and make it symetrical having no engine or components in the way buddy. Looking so good in Black mate.

  6. Looking great Eric, hope to see it sometime this year.

    You're welcome any time Art!

    Yep, finally!

    Thanks!

    Agree.

You're right David. I just need to remain patient...

I did think about it, but I've decided against pin striping. In this instance I feel it would distract too much. Thanks for thinking along!

You're also welcome any time Hennie!

Here are a few more pics from last weekend.

Pinstriping would ruin the look of that car.......the clean simple lines of the body provide you with all the artwork needed.

I think you're right Frankie47. Distraction won't work. Keeping it simple and clean provides enough attention I think.

Thank you Antti. I like the K.I.S.S. principle.

Black has always been my favourite. There are a lot of nice colours out there, but this should keep the attention to a minimum.:D

  17. I would love to be there working on it with you at this fun stage - full size model kit that turns out an awesome ride!

You're welcome to come and help out! This is probably one of the best moments of the build.

    Slowly but surely indeed. :D

Just got the painted pedal assembly and engine supports back from the painter. Looks killer! Carefully assembled and installed it.

Last pic is a little OT but this is my newly acquired trailer hauler. Even though it took quite some time for the import (FLA) and registration work, I couldn't be happier. I know there are millions of these in the US, but you'll probably never see one here in the Netherlands. Yes, I like to be different. (and it's a Mopar of course.:D)

Looks great Eric! How much more little stuff like that is there before they start laying down all the paint?

Congrats on the new tow vehicle, at least you don't have to bother your buddy about hauling your coupe around. Fortunately, that van has windows, you would be getting shady looks from people around here driving that around. I think I can locate a bumper sticker that says "Free Candy" if you want :p

Thanks. I already got some original hubcaps from ebay and installed them today. Much better! Going to paint the steel wheels black and tint the windows.

Thanks Scott. There is a lot of (little) things that still need to be addressed before they start the bondo/paint process. I hope to bring the car to them in the coming weeks and then we can make plans.

I'm really happy with the tow vehicle, it runs great. No shady looks here though. Quite a few vans here have windows, usually taxi vans. You'll just never see a Dodge, making it unique. That's what I like.:D

Haven't checked this build thread out for a while now and I must say you keep impressing me with your skills. Love the black color choice too. Keeping it simple without pin striping is the way to go. Keep up the good work. Nice tow van!

Keep on truckin', Eric; slowly but surely is always a winner.
Love the van; I haven't had a sedan for years; always vans; the useful alternative!

Thank you car. The black is the darkest black available. It's the basic black the paint companies use to create other blacks.

Thanks davo461. I'm happy with the van. (and so is my oldest son who'll been turning 18 soon and getting his drivers license. He's already got a few trips planned with his friends!)
