I don't normally do 2 posts in one week, but a couple of weeks ago I was talking to Tingler in Sigma chat. We were talking art etc and I asked him if he had seen the piece shown below when I first posted it. He said he hadn't, so I said I would show it again some time. I have shown this piece before. but just for the Master Monster painter, platypus fighter extrordinaire here it is again! Geoff aka whodaky

    Vector it is just a sculpture I did for a friend's '50th ( Tony Cassar ).
I have an old channeled '32 roadster that had a hideous custom dash in it. I thought I would like a stock style dash in it. So step up and buy one, no way;that's just not me. So I made some dies and pressed my own dash!
So the sculpture is a dash I pressed in Aluminium from those dies. One side I have polished and the other I painted and striped. The base is a casting of a quick change cover. I made a bracket to join the two together. I designed the bracket so the quickchange cover would reflect onto the polished side of the dash.
It ws a lot of work, but Tony is a very good friend. Might even make one of these for myself some day!
Vector, your stuff is just getting better and better! Geoff ak whodaky

Like I said, here's some crap I painted. I've been working on this toolbox forever. This is my first attempt at a flyin' eye. I haven't quite decided whether it's done, but I've learned some things from it that I wouldn't do again. There's some lettering above it in a new alphabet I've been teaching myself after being inspired by the Roth "You Can Learn how to Letter in One Day" (Or similar title) book I ordered from Mooneyes. The font came from dafont.com.

The other sides of the toolbox are different. I'll post those when I feel like they're sort of done. Maybe later tonight.

Also, there's a floor tile and a wine bottle holder thing I striped.

  10. Been awhile since I posted...Here's few new things. Check next issue of Rod & Kulture for the whole story on this truck. And art one.
See Jeff. I have been busy! Give me a call when you are in AZ.

Okay, here's another view of my toolbox. I still have a couple more sides to paint, and one in the works.

Harley stuff. Tight chops along the line of Indian Larry's bikes. Engine drawings would look really cool in your style, especially older ones like 74 & 80 cu. in. flatheads and knuckleheads!!!

You don't want to make any cash on that bottle by any chance? It would look good just sittin on my bar!

  21. Lots of great art this week. Muttley, that shirt kicks ass. I really dig your work, Hidden. Very cool as usual. And Whodaky, very nice striping!

I haven't been able to do much in the way of art lately:

Here's one I did for a panel jam:

Here's a shot of a box I did for a Hamber. It's about five percent of the work I did on the box, but I forgot to take any more pics.

The last two are ones I did to keep up on my practice a bit. I'm gettin' rusty. The second one isn't finished. I sketched out some things I want to add in stabilo, but I need to find some time to break out the paint.

Got inspired and did this scribble last night. Does it still count for the Friday Art Show?

  24. This is a bit late but I just got this in the mail this morning and had to share it.A box of 24 mouth operated airbrushes made somewhere in the 50's judging by the box art.I don't intend to use them but add to my collection of oddball spray equipment.

  25. Has anybody else noticed that 50Dodge4x4's work gets better every week?

    And a T-shirt logo I did

Thanks for the compliments guys, they really mean something coming from you guys. The Art talent that is on here is way over the top. It drives a guy to work hard to get better, so we can hang with all you great ones.

By the way, if Doc see the T shirt logo, he's going to have to have it!. Its cool.
