I've had a couple of pretty straight KB5 ton and a half International trucks for a while. I have found a mid 80's 20,000 mile motor home Chevrolet Ch***is with 4 wheel disk brakes, 19.5 Alcoa's 10 hole rear 5 hole fronts that I can get for cheap. Anyone have any experience with the motor home ch***is? Wheel base is pretty long but could be cut down. I am thinking a custom built bed to fit over the motor home dual wheels or swap out to a single wheel rear axle. I like the 19.5's they will fill out the fender openings very nice I think. I am wanting to build a truck with that I can push down the highway somewhere close to the speed limit but have a modern engine, ch***is and brakes. My next step is to find out the rear axle ratio, run the tire diameter and axle ratio numbers and see if I need an overdrive transmission. The motor home had a 454/400 turbo, the present owner bought it for the motor and transmission. I have had the trucks for a while and was not sure what I wanted to do, I like the idea of an updated ch***is. I am thinking maybe building a inline 6 Chevy 292 I have or maybe putting a ***mins in. I have already polished the Alcoa's in my mind. Any thoughts on using the motor home ch***is? Rick
im doing a 41 on a 92 1/2 ton ch***is not to long ago I saw one for sale on a 1 ton chevy ch***is. what is the rating for yours?
