A lot of you don't know who Danny Kilcup was (he's now deceased) I don't think he achieved fame in the same way that others from his era did. If you're from the North West and you either didn't know Danny or know of him then you must have spent you life in Oregon Caves. I literally knew Danny all my life. He worked with my dad when I was born, I pitted with him a lot when I first started raceing ( late '60s early '70s), he gave me my first pair of slicks (a pair of skinny stones mounted), I guess I could add to the list. Anyway a newbie from the NW sent me this link. Be forwarned this is a car that I believe is up for auction but it is a pretty cool piece of '50s history and there is a little bit of info and a pic or two for ya. This is not a buy this car post or anything like that but if you're interested you might give it a look see. Hell if you knew the character that I knew this is even your chance to post a story or two. I know I could post a ton of 'em myself. http://www.barrett-jackson.com/carlist/cardetails.asp?In_AuctionID=221&In_LotNumber=1255
Ok not trying to bounce this but someone dropped me a note and couldn't get a look at the '40. my official disclaimer I borrowed these pics from the site mentioned above.
funny I didn't see this post. I think that 40 was the sale of the week end. that is an amazing 40 and could have fetched 50-60 grand any day of the week. I was glad to see go $200,000. who ever bought it will never change a thing. it's safe for ever.
Yea I always thought that a '40 should be built like that. We always have these major discussions on trad and this one is all that trad should be. Well that's just the bent opinion of the PknBner Brent jump to the link the color is mentioned there along with some of the minor build info. Noname I would like to think that all that would ever happen to the old hooptie is that it got driven and cared for. Do you know by chance that it went to the right person?
